School officially started this week. I am happy to be back at work and have something to keep me occupied. My class sizes are crazy and filled with even crazier kids, but I love it. Crazy kids fit in perfectly with a loony, missing quite a few marbles teacher!!! Fingers crossed to a great school year!
I ended my long and exhausting week with a movie. The Giver came out today and I had to see it immediately.
Of course the movie did not live up to the book. How could it? I know the book inside and out.
For those who had not read the book, it was a good movie. The story was entertaining and the characters were well cast. A lot was changed from the book and I did not like it. The book was so amazing and could have been made into a phenomenal movie.
I could go on and on with what was wrong with the movie and how the book was better. I will say that the spirit of the book was conveyed in the movie and for that I am thankful.
But I have to say again, that the book was so much better.
