Today was an exhausting day. I ended up leaving work early to be with my mom. We talked a little, tried to brush her teeth (we made a huge mess), and set her up to do crossword puzzles and play on the computer. She has already had two sessions with the physical therapist and the doctor is hoping to get her off the IV meds and onto oral pain meds. My mom is not eating as well as she should, but that could be due to the all the meds she is taking. Her hip is hurting her a little, but she is not complaining about her shoulder. She might have to have a blood transfusion, but hopefully that is it.
A blood transfusion sounds so scary. Why can’t they just call it a bag of blood that will be dripped into your IV since you lost too much blood during surgery? Doesn’t that sound less scary?
My mom should be moved to a nursing facility Sunday or Monday. I know nothing about the facility. I have left the decision in my dad’s hands. I am I charge of taking care of my mom while she is in bed and my dad decides where that bed will be. Team work! My dad hates hospitals. He handle blood, needles, and I think even the nurses make him nervous!
As for me, I took a few naps and got an estimate on my fence. It won’t be cheap. I got my hair cut and it was the break I needed. My hair stylist is a good friend and she always makes my day better. We had dinner at Romao’s. My lasagne was okay. It had too much ricotta cheese and tomato sauce. The clam chowder was good. Romano’s is the place you go for good deep dish pizza and a football game. The atmosphere is always good. So now I am going to bed with a full belly.
I finished A Child Goes Forth tonight.
It was written by a teacher from my school. I was surprised by home much I liked the book. I did not want to put it down. I needed to know what happened next. I admit that I was a little scared by the book at first, but I would recommend it to anyone. I cannot wait until Monday to get it autographed by the author!
All is good.
