Today was day one of my week off and it started off with a bang. My friend Gretchen and I went out to lunch (we had hushpuppies!!!!!!) and to see Still Alice.
I had some hesitations since I loved the book. Was Julianne Moore the best character to play Alice? Would the movie pay tribute to the book? Why was Alec Baldwin and Kristen Stewart cast to play the husband and daughter?
Julianne Moore did an amazing job. Her Oscar nomination is well deserved. She respected the character and proved she was the only one who could play Alice. The movie did the best it could to live up to the book. There were some changes that I did not understand, but the movie was enjoyable.
Alec Baldwin did better than I expected, but was not a good fit for the husband. I am not a fan of Kristen Stewart and so it was hard for me to like her in the role.
Great movie! Great day! What a way to start a week off!
