Oh Lois Lowry how you have let me down. I have purposefully avoided reading the other books in The Giver series in fear that they would not be as good. I finally summoned up the courage to read the second book, Gathering Blue.
I found the book boring. I scanned paragraphs instead of reading them. I did not care for the main character or many of the characters to be honest. I loved Matt and his dog, Branchie. I can not figure out how this book ties into The Giver. There are four book in the series and maybe this book is a set up for the two remaining books. Hopefully they are better than Gathering Blue!
I’ll close by admitting that my state of mind is not good. I am so tired of living my life alone. I am sick of going though the motions for no reason. But this is how it is and will be forever.
