Tonight I finished The Silver Star by Jeanette Walls.
I enjoyed this novel, but not as much as I enjoyed Jeanette Walls’ memoirs. I could not put down The Glass Castle and Half Broke Horse, but struggled a bit to get through this book. I got not find a connection to the characters and the story seemed to drag. It was not until the adoption of the emus and Dog that I became hooked. Too bad that did not happen until the end of the book.
Today was a good day. My mom and I ran a bunch of errands and she seemed to do really well. My goal was to purchase everything I needed to prepare myself for the new school year, but no luck. I did get some groceries, a new skirt, and a couple of school supplies. Tomorrow I plan to take it easy and enjoy my last few hours of peace!
