Yup! That is someone’s actual license plate that they paid for. It might just be the best one ever.
Mom is doing great. She is walking, slowly, but at least she is walking. She uses a cane and doing great in Physical Therapy. Her shoulder is still painful and I think on Friday we will find out if she will have to have surgery on it. The best news is that she should be going home early next week! Yup, home! No nursing home!!! Tonight I will be making dinner for my mom. She asked for grilled cheese with sliced tomatoes again. She has been eating well at the hospital, but nothing is better than something homemade.
This morning I got up early to run some errands with my friend Gretchen. Gretchen and I are trouble when we are together. We went for breakfast at Carolyn’s Cafe. This place is evil. Their coffee cake is out of this world. I call it crack cake. I have never met a person that does not get addicted to the coffee cake. Everything is good at Carolyn’s. Carolyn’s even made it on our local news program!
Gretchen and I ran a bunch of errands. I leave for Washington, D.C. in less than a week and I needed to prepare! We ran all over town, caused trouble, and made a lot of people smile. Along with everything else I got the most important items for my trip: snacks! I have made my D.C. list and I think I am ready. I never pack until the day I leave, but I my chaos is orangized.
Can chaos by organized?
We parted ways early and I have been couch surfing most of the afternoon. I watched some TV, took some naps, and did some chores. I feel almost rested and ready for the long week ahead.
I have been reading a lot to help me relax. I finding to be less stressful than watching TV.
Play It As It Lays by Joan Didion was a book that I read for my third bookclub. I was not impressed by this book. The characters and the story were undeveloped in my opinion. I finished the book with most of my questions left unanswered. I don’t know if I will read another book by Didion, but I would like to see the movie based on this book. Maybe all of my questions will be answered!
Lisa Scottline’s book Come Home was a bit better. I call it a Chick Lit mystery. It was an easy read that was entertaining. The story was easy to follow with little twists. As for a mystery, I was not surprised or shocked by the ending. It was an enjoyable read that did not require a lot thinking. It was just what I needed!
My biggest accomplishment of the day was I replaced my toilet seat. I never knew choosing a toilet seat would be so difficult. Did I want wood or plastic? The $35 one or the $10 one? Why the huge difference in price? What does a $35 toilet seat do that a $10 cannot? Is it really necessary to have a million different toilet seats to choose from? In the end, I finally chose one and of course had to share a picture.
And yes, my bottom was very happy with the seat I chose.
